Baby Kyan's Birth Story

Hello peeps! Back to blog about my second baby boy's birth story!
Well, this 'story' is different from the first one. You can read Janelle's birth story here
If you know I've been working while having this second baby, I start my maternity leave 3 weeks earlier than the EDD as I'm afraid that baby Kyan gonna be out earlier than the EDD as there's some problems.
Once my maternity leave starts, I've not enjoyed any moments of it and I'm suffering from those pains.

18th April 2014, I found some blood and I went to the Gleneagles Hospital. Was admitted for one night, there's contractions, blood and it's dilated 1cm! My gynae, Dr Peter Chew (same gynae as my first baby) came in the morning at 8am to check, and it's still 1cm dilated. I was thinking to just have induction, but Dr Chew suggest not to as it's still 2 weeks earlier than the EDD. If I were to induce, the chances are very low and might have to go for c-sect. He asked me to go back home and see whether the contraction has gone closer and more painful. So like the first baby, I went back home to monitor. 2 days later, I went for my checkup and it's still 1cm dilated! -.-

So if you haven't see how big is my tummy....

This was taken on Week 38!
They said if pregnant with a boy, the tummy will look sharper and you won't lose your waistline.
It's kinda true on me! I don't look pregnant from my backview.

+++++

2 weeks later (3rd May 2014), I went for my checkup in the morning. Dr Chew told me to admit to hospital on 4th May (EDD!) 9pm for induction. So I went back home, realized that there's blood and mild contractions again. So we went to the hospital at 1am. Stayed at the hospital overnight again, Dr Chew checked in the morning and it's only 1.5cm dilated. So waited for the evening time to arrive, it's only 3cm dilated! Dr Chew said, if we wait till the next morning 8am and there's no further dilation, then I'll have to go for c-sect.

I was thinking of putting the medicine into my drip so to have more contractions and thinking that my cervix might dilate bigger! However Dr Chew said if were to put the medicine, we only can wait till 10-11pm as he's afraid that baby has not enough oxygen. We were given a choice by letting it dilate naturally and wait till morning.

Contractions came more at night, my back and lower abdominal feel so painful! Didn't get any epidural again, and I used the laughing gas. The pain was reduced whenever I inhale the laughing gas, but as I inhaled more, I'm already damn 'high' like on drugs. Lolol.

In the morning 8am, they checked and there's still no further dilation!!! So it stopped at 3cm, wth?!?!
So I admitted to the hospital twice, stayed in the labour ward for 30 over hours and in the end I have to go for C-sect?!?! Kinda stupid, waste of time and money! So I pushed to the operating theatre, and they put me to sleep. The man was not allowed to go in with me. They inject, gave me oxygen and I fell asleep with pain of contractions.

Within 30 min later, baby Kyan's finally born!!!!!

So Dr Chew's being very funny. He told us that LUCKILY I did C-sect, as the cord was tangled two times on his neck. So what? If I'm able to push baby out naturally, baby might be in danger! He must be kidding. Over 30 hours then tell me LUCKILY operation. Zzz! Then I might as well just do C-sect when I'm admitted to the hospital right? He checked that the heartbeat was unusual on the first morning, he should somehow or rather know that baby might be in danger and I should go for C-sect, not letting us to wait for 30 over hours!

But well, I'm still happy to see him safe and sound. :')

After the operation, I woke up 2 hours later. I feel really drowsy, And once I woke up, I can feel the pain on my tummy! It really hurts damn bad that I was crying and whining in pain. My tummy was cut by doctors and nurses! It's really painful!!!! I wouldn't want to have a third baby as it hurts really that bad. Baby's not with me as he's pushed out to his daddy. What I saw was a flat tummy. Like so fast and he's out! So I was pushed out to my room, the man was waiting outside the operating theatre alone.

Baby son and my first photo together!
I look really tired.... I'm still feeling very drowsy at that moment.
In addition, I'm not allowed to have solid food. I only can drink water and milo at 10pm, 14 hours after my operation!!! Totally worn out!
My last meal taken was the breakfast I had on the first morning. After 60 hours, then I can have solid food.
C-sect is really bad. Natural birth will be better definitely!

Afterall, it's all worth it after having him in my arms. :)

The jiejie wants to lie down like her didi! Hahahaha.

Anyway, I bought her a toy dog. Passed to her when she visited me and said that it's from her didi.
I did this because I hope she'll dote her baby brother. So I 'bribed' her. :/
From the photos you see above, can tell that she loves her didi right? Hopefully it'll remain this way!

Rashes grown on my face, tummy, hands and back because I'm allergy to some medicine given by the nurses. That explains why my face looks so reddish.

The pain of a mother/wife.

After operating, I appreciate my mum even more! The pain she had when delivering her 4 daughters...
Yesterday was Mother's Day. What I want to say is....

'Appreciate and love your wife and mum. Words can't explain the pain they suffered when they are pregnant for 10 months, how they delivered your child/you to this world, the care and concern they provide for you.'
